In competitive markets, understanding what customers truly want is a very crucial factor in advertising. As a behavioral consultant with a background in strategic marketing and communication, I’ve come to deeply appreciate this fact. It’s not just about knowing who your target audience is.
As part of an ongoing project with authorities in Austria, Belgium, and Portugal, the European Commission just published a methodological handbook for applying behavioral insights in tax administrations.
After 2.5 years of dedication, collaboration, and hard work, we joined our incredible colleagues from the Ministry of Culture’s Behavioral Insights Unit to celebrate the completion of a truly impactful project.
It is incredible that so many experiences, memories, and achieved milestones can fit into one year.
As we look back on the past 12 months, we are filled with gratitude for our clients, partners, affiliates, friends, and families who made this journey unforgettable.
Thank you all – and let’s see what’s to come in 2025. Happy new year!
Last week, we had the great pleasure of co-delivering a workshop on Behavioral Tax Compliance together with our colleagues from Verian. Over the course of 1.5 days, we brainstormed and discussed a plethora of ideas on how to use behavioral insights to design interventions aimed to improve tax compliance in the Portuguese context as part of a project funded by the European Commission.
A big thank you to the colleagues from the Portuguese Tax Authority for their active participation and invaluable contributions.

In November, our EU team visited the vibrant capital of Saudi Arabia, strengthening bonds with both our colleagues and this beautiful country. While most of us were able to join, we truly missed our team members who could not make the trip – you were with us in spirit!
We had a great time at this year’s SABE/IAREP 2024 Conference where some of our recent research was presented. Exceptional researchers and inspiring discussions that gave us a lot of food for thought for new experiments.
In the world of (applied) science we often focus heavily on how to get the research design, data collection, and analysis right. There are plenty of guides on specific methods with which we can gain powerful insights. But we often pay less attention to the last step of our research project: Turning the collected data into actionable knowledge. Decision makers do not only need to understand what the results are, but also what they mean: what can we learn from the data? Are our initial questions answered? What are the next steps to take?
