New handbook: applying behavioral insights to tax compliance

Behavioral Insights Germany and Saudi Arabia

As part of an ongoing project with authorities in Austria, Belgium, and Portugal, the European Commission just published a methodological handbook for applying behavioral insights in tax administrations.

The guide provides practical tools for diagnosing compliance barriers, designing behavioral interventions, and embedding new approaches into tax processes.

The handbook is meant as a toolbox for authorities and policymakers who wish to apply behavioral insights in their work (Press Release).
